HG 1/144 GN-X901TW Susanowo Custom Project

My second experimental gundam building project. got this model from Glory System Enterprise at Endah Parade, Sri Petaling. a very good hobby shop. one should go and visit the shop~

Did custom colouration to this model kit. painted the white parts with red and that was all i did for my big 'custom colouration'. as u can see in the picture, i used my trusty Bandai modeling tool kit and a hobby knife. can't imagine building a gundam model kit without these tools~

Hand-painted the kit. saw a lot of awesomely build model kits on the web just by hand-painting. decided to do that as well. bought Mr.Hobby paint together with the kit. but, i used industrial thinner to dilute the colour with. i wanted to give it another try but using different type of application (hand-paint instead of airbrush) since my first experience in my MG Gundam RX-79 Ez-8 project came out looking quite good. seriously, it was a big mistake. during application, the paint mix immediately melted the plastic. but there's no turning back. i got to finish what i started even if it means destroying the kit (quite sad to go with the decision of using industrial thinner). finish the kit with Mr.Hobby flat topcoat~

So, this is the result of my disastrous Susanowo Custom Project~

MG Gundam RX-79 Ez-8

This is my MG Gundam RX-78 Ez-8. bought it from a friend because he doesn't want it anymore and that's how i own this model.

I decided to paint this model using my airbrush. but, at the time being (i think it was back in 2008) i only got my airbrush gun/nozzle without the mini air-compressor. wanted to buy the mini air-compressor but it was way too expensive for me. i was thinking of hooking up my airbrush nozzle to my industrial 2.5hp air-compressor instead (an attempt of desperation to use my airbrush) and i did. kinda funny to have that kind of setting where a large air-compressor supplying compressed air to a pen-size airbrush. tested out the setting and it worked just fine.

The colours that i used for this gundam model was industrial paint left-over from my garage (it is not because i'm cheap that i used the left-over paint, but the price of modeler's hobby paint was expensive for me as well). did the painting according to the gundam's original colour scheme and added some dark shading using rust-proof industrial marine paint left-over (i repeat, i'm not cheap). finished building the gundam model in 2 weeks and the result suprises me. to think that the industrial paint was mixed with industrial thinner (which is very 'corrosive' to plastic. it would melt the plastic on direct contact) and used on the gundam model without any 'plastic corrosion' really makes me happy with the result. and this is the point where my gundam-building adventure began~

First Post in my First Blog~

Wohoooo, my first post in my first blog. Mr.Gotai a.k.a. Pejul said, "happy blogging" n Kimi said, "wahh, happy go neko!!". but what do i suppose to write down??? i'm a noob when it comes to blogging, haha~

Well, the main reason that i created this blog of mine is to share my hobby with the world (wah....talking trash, lol). love to build model kits specifically gundam model kits during my free and not-so-free time. been my hobby since i was still in high school. to see those magnificent out-of-this-world built of gundam kits out there impresses me much. how i wish i can be like them~!!

so, i'm hoping to get response from all the viewers to help me improve myself~

arigatou~XD
